Hand-Crafted Hope Chests

Hand-Crafted Hope Chests features pieces that are handmade by Amish artisans and come in solid wood of either cedar, oak, maple or cherry. Originally, hope chests were to hold all the things a young woman needed to start a household: embroidered linens, crocheted doilies, dresser scarves, hand-decorated pillow cases, quilts. Eventually it would be a place to store for her wedding gown, baby clothes and other family memorabilia. These days many people use chests for extra storage for things such as linens. Regardless of what you use your chest for, these pieces are beautiful & will add to your home's dècor rather than detract from it. Hand-Crafted Hope Chests also offers solid wood jewelry boxes available in a variety of colors. These make wonderful gifts that are timeless.

I grew up in Amish country in eastern Pennsylvania, so I can appreciate the workmanship that goes into beautiful chests like these! I admire them all, but my favorites have to be the classic Basic Cedar and the Canterbury. I love the simplicity of the designs and the deep hues of the wood.

I knew these would be beautiful, but I have to admit I was surprised at how affordable they are. What a great gift for parents to give their child or even for some friends to chip in together and buy for someone they know. The other thing I liked is that many times chests are so dark in color. I love how they offer the Meadowbrook chest in a beautiful, light color.

The chests are beautiful. I am sure that since each one is handmade, the craftsmanship is superb. For hand-crafted pieces, they are very reasonably priced.

It's hard to find craftmanship like this anymore. I inherited a hope chest from my mom and love it. You don't see a lot of them these days.

I visited the website and was shocked at how inexpensive these chests were for their value. I live near an amish area in Michigan and it's impossible to find a chest for less than $800! Everything on the website was gorgeous. I love items that have a pair of REAL hands behind them! :)

Oh wow, they are all just so lovely. The Springfield is my favorite, I think, because the top looks like a seat.

These chests are absolutely beautiful - I immediately fell in love with the Conestoga. Really nice oak, including a cedar bottom. My grandmother has something similar that is made out of mahogany with a cedar bottom, she stores her quilts, doilies and etc in it. She has had it for years - and when you open it - it still has the cedar smell.
