White Paw Craftworks
Christine Gregory of White Paw Craftworks has been busy making stuffed bunnies of different sizes since February. These adorable little buns have raised lots of funds that are being donated to the House Rabbit Society in support of their Make Mine Chocolate campaign. Sadly, many unwanted Easter rabbits will fill local rabbit rescues & humane societies once the novelty has worn off. The goal of this campaign is to break the cycle of acquisition & relinquishment by educating the public about the responsibilities involved in keeping a companion rabbit before a purchase is made. Christine's stuffed bunnies are a wonderful alternative & will make a great gift for any loved one. The Lucky Irish Bunny is my favorite! In addition to these adorable plush animals, Christine also creates beautiful crocheted hats & scarves, as well as being a talented artist. Check out her blog for more information & updates.

Anchovies
Shannon Phillips became fed up with infant clothing featuring phrases such as "my mom is hot" and "I'm a boob man." Shannon's graphic design background helped her develop her own products & led to her opening a baby boutique called Anchovies. The name may throw you at first, but it's fitting for a company where the small things in our lives make the biggest impression. Her apparel designs feature bright, fun graphics that will play up your child's personality & enable them to stand out among a sea of sameness. Anchovies also features handy items such as diaper totes, blankets, and bibs. And I absolutely love the "pickled to perfection" packaging that is available when ordering gifts!

Spark
Spark, a clothing & accessory line, was launched in 2005 by Megan Poss. Described as girly but with a punky edge, her designs have become very popular. The newest collection is made up of iconic vintage images in a softer palette of buttery yellow, cotton-candy pink, and robin’s egg blue as seen in the jewelry designs. I especially love the puff-sleeved tees featuring birdcage & chandelier images. The small bags are perhaps the most adorable products. The pink & black plaid bags are my favorite! In addition to the online shop, this collection is available in stores across Canada.

Busy parents and educators can now discover great read-aloud children's books while they are busy doing the many tasks that would otherwise rob them of the opportunity to research great children's books in more traditional ways. Episodes range in length from 5 to 25 minutes and can be played directly from the web page or downloaded to a portable mp3 player, such as an iPod, for listening on the go. This is a wonderful, modern way to reconnect with children's literature & spread your enthusiasm amongst children.

My Windup Bird
San Francisco-based tee shirt company My Windup Bird creates limited-edition designs that are inspired by art, nature, travel & more. I've slowly begun overcoming my fear of birds, at least as a design element. Perhaps it has something to do with being a part of Freckled Nest's design team, but regardless I really like the Bird Mutantes tee. The flowerbirds tee, featuring a windup bird, is another cool design. And I love the colorful Thank You Flower tee that was inspired by well-known plastic shopping bags. Also available are cool men's and children's tees featuring various graphics. An added bonus - a portion of all sales are donated to local charities.

MonkeyFist
The origin of the company name MonkeyFist is a fascinating one. At just ten years old, Daniel Edwards lost his left hand in a lawn mower accident. His doctor made history by performing a transplant that replaced Daniel's hand with that of an orangutan. Unfortunately his body rejected the limb after just nine months. But during the brief time Daniel had the transplanted hand, he was called a number of names including "Monkey Fist." The website says that MonkeyFist's designs aren't for everyone & that is precisely what Daniel intended to achieve by creating unique & limited-edition pieces. Being a fan of monkey designs, I was thrilled to come across these funky designs depicting chimps in unlikely scenarios. I love the Homeroom tee featuring a class portrait full of chimp children. The Chair is a frightening, yet intriguing image. My absolute favorite has to be The Cleanup tee with the hilarious chimp maid illustration.
Lindy Sue's
I can't say that the words laundry and chic naturally go together in my mind. But at Lindy Sue's you will find exclusive handcrafted laundry chic and more. The Laundry 101 toolkit is the perfect gift for any graduate this spring. And who knew a clothes pin bag could be so stylish? For those who travel frequently, the adorable shoe bag & dainties travel bag are must haves. I tend to be a tad messy, so the Come Clean travel kit would also come in very handy. This site also has lots of cute little items including the retro dishtowel set and tins filled with multiple decorative magnets. And for all of you who want to get the ultimate in cleanliness, there's Lindy Sue's very own laundry soap. It even comes in an adorable drawstring bag complete with Lindy Sue's classic laundry pin-up girl.
Turtle Kiss
I am a fan of abstract art, including Jackson Pollock's work. I immediately thought of his "paint pourings" when I came across Turtle Kiss. I'm not sure if Pollock would take that as a compliment or not, but I'm sure he would agree that the works of art, created by an actual turtle, are fascinating nonetheless. Koopa, the world's only professional turtle artist, is said to have paintings hanging in all 50 U.S. states, as well as several countries abroad. He has created over 650 paintings in the 4+ years he has been doing this. Kira, the human partner in this endeavor, began Turtle Kiss as a way to raise awareness about turtle rescue while sharing unique works of art. My family loves turtles, so I am happy to share this unique venture. Kira is also a talented artist & creates terrific paintings, as well. Several of Koopa's paintings are for sale through eBay. You can even request a custom painting if you'd like.

Eclectic Elements
Eclectic Elements specializes in jewelry that incorporates fun and funky game pieces into their unique designs. I especially like the game piece bracelet made of recycled vintage bone and bamboo Mah Jong tiles. The multicolored Mah Jong bracelets are also very cool. And any wild woman would love the purple skull poker chip necklace! Don't miss the colorful pieces which utilize various styles of dice, as well as dominoes.

Thea Coughlin
Thea Coughlin is a woman of many talents. This self-taught photographer and jewelry designer is inspired by the beauty of nature & her surroundings. Thea works under the notion that every picture tells a story & she includes a poem or story with each of her pieces creating a deeper meaning in her art. Monarch Designs showcases Thea's jewelry designs which incorporate her beautiful photographs. I especially love the Whiskers photo earrings. Thea's photography is so rich in color, as seen in Equanimity. And I can almost hear children's laughter when looking at Fairy Dreams That Go Round & Round. Have a look at the wide-variety of photographs & jewelry designs Thea offers.
