Bento Box Gifts

Bento Box Gifts is the go-to source for gifts that are uniquely packaged, turning a little thing into a special event. Inspired by a Japanese bento box lunch, with its little compartments of exquisitely presented food, a Bento Box Gift is a box full of the niftiest items, each nestled into its own compartment. Mimi Kolb, who has a background in advertising & graphic design, scours the world for neat little items that are sure to make the recipient feel special. The XXOO box is filled with big-hearted sentiments perfect for sweethearts & friends. Of course, this would make a great Valentine's Day gift! If you're looking for a memorable baby gift, there's a baby bento box that fits the bill. And who doesn't need an extra dose of good karma (pictured)? Bento Box Gifts are also available through The Shops @ Funky Finds. The Shops features limited-edition boxes available in selected boutiques, plus bestsellers from the main site.

Frances Melhop - Photography Project

Photographer Frances Melhop is currently working on a very interesting project. She has recently been awarded an artist residency in Italy & is on a mission to find some of the oldest Olive trees in the world. You may ask why she would be on such a mission. After viewing the video, you will see that these trees are beautiful, magical & possibly full of secrets. There seems to be humans trapped inside the trees, a fairytale dream come true! Frances is using old school technology to capture images that she will present at an exhibition, followed by a second series of limited-edition images printed by hand on fiber-based photographic paper. Her fundraising is in an effort to complete the project in a high-quality manner. Follow her journey via her blog showing her progress, as well as treasures & found oddities leading up to the exhibition. You can learn much more about this project on Frances' Kickstarter site.

Christine Berrie Illustration

Christine Berrie is a talented Glasgow-based illustrator. Her latest prints include '10 Camera Drawings' and '9 Robot Drawings' featuring collections of vintage cameras and retro robots. The pieces are arranged together to create colorful, detailed prints and are each limited to an edition of only 50. I love the blue Imperial Savoy Camera Drawing, as well as the red Sabre 620 Camera Drawing. Christine says she also loves drawing old buildings, gadgets, scooters, cars, signage, street scenes and anything that else inspires her to create detailed imagery with a touch of nostalgia. Her hope is that the results display her aim to invest even the most mundane objects with personality. I'd say mission accomplished. Learn more about Christine Berrie via her blog.

Hand Picked Pumpkin

Allison Case began Hand Picked Pumpkin with two things in mind - utmost comfort and some fashion standards. She wanted cute knit pants for her wee one, Pierson, that wouldn't constrict his movement while learning to crawl and walk. In her quest, she developed a modern line of limited-edition and custom baby clothing. The customization is an easy three-step process. You simply pick the garment you'd like, choosing from various signature outfits, bottoms, and more. Then, choose the appropriate size. The third step, customizing, is where the fun comes in. If you aren't feeling very creative & prefer to purchase ready-made pieces, Hand Picked Pumpkin offers those as well. Check out the Hand Picked Pumpkin blog, Notions, for information regarding sales & more.

The Jewelry Collection by Karen Leslie

The Jewelry Collection by Karen Leslie provides distinctive one of a kind & limited-edition accessories. The necklaces range in style from dichroic & Czech glass to Turquoise & black Onyx. There's many gorgeous earring designs, as well. I especially love the sterling silver hammer finish pair. And do not miss the bracelet collection full of brightly colored stones and beads.
