Frankie & Julie

Frankie & Julie is a web-based retail shop featuring unique, hand-adorned belt buckles and genuine leather belt straps. Frankie Rio & Julie Fulton have had sticky hands, plus lots of fun, creating these accessories for the last four years. Their Spring 2010 line of buckles is made up of beautiful designs that are sure to turn heads. I love the pink & blue Abigail belt buckle, as well as the Copacabana-Kiwi design. The Havana design, available in fuschia and grape, is also very appealing. Those who love to travel will certainly want to snag one or two of the buckles from the Atlas collection. And the duo happily accepts custom orders that make great gifts. All of Frankie & Julie's straps are interchangeable with all of their belt buckles. It's literally "a snap" to change buckles so you can easily mix and match to create your own unique, wearable art. Receive a 15% discount on your first F&J order with coupon code FUNKYFINDS (excluding sale items & custom orders). This offer cannot be combined with any other offers & is valid through June 30, 2010.

Devils May Care

Devils May Care showcases wearable fine art using the original photography of Jamie Greenberg. The current collection includes limited edition belt buckles and apparel for both men and women. The belt buckles are created using photographs that are printed on canvas & individually stamped with the edition number on the back. There are also several cool men's and women's burnout tees, such as the cool Smoke Before Fire design. Each piece is hand screen printed ensuring you receive a unique garment every time. Receive free shipping through the end of October with coupon code FF1009.

Greenbelts

Greenbelts are unique accessories that are handmade from recycled leather belts. Many of the embellishments, such as bottlecaps, are also recycled materials. Created by Shannon Ritscher, Greenbelts are funky one-of-a-kind pieces that will add interest to your wardrobe. The waist cinching white patent leather belt is made from four recycled/reclaimed leather and man-made belts. I also love the asymmetrical low-slung white and silver belt that is very cool. In addition to belts, Shannon creates cuffs, dog collars and leashes using reclaimed goods. And, for the extremely fashionable pet and pet owner, there's the matching cuff and collar sets. I think Abby and I need the chocolate leather pieces that are adorned with pink buttons!

Teresa Flowers

Teresa Flowers is a talented artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her paintings and photographs have been shown in London, LA, San Francisco, and New York. And now you can view her work online at Sleepictures. Teresa also has a nice selection of products, including apparel and accessories, listed under Sleepictures Products at the bottom of the site. I love the women's tops that feature her imaginative artwork. The art pendants and belts feature Teresa's paintings, my favorite being the snail. You can learn more about Teresa's work on her MySpace page.

Through Mari's Eyes

Through Mari's Eyes features exceptional jewelry handcrafted by Mari Keating Schofield. To create her pieces, Mari uses components made of glass, ceramics, and semi-precious stones, as well as vintage elements. There are many beautiful necklaces to choose from, including the pink & black piece comprised of various charms & beads. I especially love the necklace that is made up of yellow vintage beads and Japanese glass & retro resin. All of Mari's bracelet and earring designs are equally eye-catching. The stiletto and sandal charm earrings are fabulous! Additional items are available, including beaded belts and bookmarks. Receive 15% off when you mention Funky Finds at checkout (expires May 1st).

Be Picky

Today I came across Be Picky, an awesome shop that made me squeal in delight! The colorful accessories are created using a variety of guitar picks. Artist Rachel Thomas handcrafts these rockin' pieces designed to survive even the rockiest of rock shows. I especially love the yellow, black & white bracelet named Taxi. Rachel also creates cool earrings and belts that will spice up any ensemble. And I've got to say that the three tier chandelier is just about THE coolest creation I've ever seen! Man, how I want this for my craft room/office!!!

Preppy Mommy

My funky street team (aka Carey) discovered Preppy Mommy while watching the Today Show. Nicole “Coco” Quiroga is the founder and creative principal of this great company that creates beautiful yet practical accessories for baby & mommy. These hip & practical items are inspired by Coco’s own personal style and spirit. The binky clips are a handy & adorable way for your wee one to keep up with their pacifier. I myself do not have any children, but I imagine a bibkin would come in very handy in a pinch. For moms (and all women actually) Preppy Mommy creates punchy ribbon belts. These bright accessories are perfect for spring & summer. Also, the lanyards are an excellent way to keep your keys & identification at the ready. Win a lanyard in the children's goods giveaway that ends on March 31st.

Lucy's Sister

Marissa Spada grew up during the 70s when everyone had funky belts that completed their ensembles. She decided to design a line of belt buckles with interchangeable belt straps that would be a throw back to those days. She launched Lucy's Sister in 2005 & began selling her line of accessories that have a vintage rock and roll vibe, while at the same time are distinctly girly, modern, and fun. You can promote love & peace while wearing the Sienna buckle, or make people smile with the adorable Happy buckle. Mushrooms are hot right now, so snatch up a Summer of 1972 buckle while you're at it. These will look fabulous with the funky hippy straps or Rambling Rose strap which reminds me of the "Jessica" belt I sported as a child. Check out all the awesome straps that Marissa has assembled in her shop. You won't be disappointed!
