PARKING: All parking lots at the Will Rogers Memorial Center will be on the following variable rate scale during the event. You may receive a $2.00 discount on variable rates in the Harley Lot when you present the following coupon upon exiting.

You are welcome to park in any lot during the event; however, the $2.00 discount will only be valid in the Harley Lot. Feel free to share the coupons with your friends & family who are attending the event.

Creative Collective Fort Worth is basically a year-round Funky Finds! You walk into the Creative Collective store to find hundreds of hand-crafted & vintage items from various artists, crafters, designers & pickers. They are currently in the process of renovating their new space that will feature 18,000 square feet of collaborative co-op space providing micro boutique, co-working and co-business opportunities. With locations in Fort Worth and Carrollton, Texas, The Artful Bead offers a one-stop shopping destination for jewelry making supplies including quality beads, wire, chain, findings, and tools. Tea in Texas Magazine is a truly unique publication. Billed as a cultural travel publication designed to enhance the enjoyment of unique travel & fine living in the Lone Star State, Tea in Texas offers information regarding tea, craft events, and travel information. SXSW Event: Commodore Von Keepsie's Craftacular Musical Carnivale

Funky Finds is very excited to be sponsoring an event being held during South By Southwest (SXSW), an annual music, film, & interactive conference & festival held in Austin, Texas. For the last 3 years, Standard Recording Company has been throwing free day party events at SXSW featuring great music & good food. Two years ago, Martha Latta of Sunday Afternoon Housewife suggested they combine indie rock with indie craft. With sponsors like Sublime Stitching and Craftster helping with make-and-takes, how could they go wrong? Of course, it was a huge hit, so they decided to continue the tradition this year.

This year's event, Commodore Von Keepsie's Craftacular Musical Carnivale, will be bigger and better (being in Texas, it must be BIG!). Graham's Texas Tea and Treaty Oak Rum are pouring the free drinks. Bust Magazine has signed on to be the national media sponsor. Hello Craft is sponsoring make & takes, ProvoCraft / Yudu will be there screening free shirts & tote bags for attendees, and 15 unique indie crafters will be selling their hand-crafted wares.

If you are interested in attending the event on Friday, March 18, between Noon and 8pm, at the Gypsy Lounge, you need to RSVP online. Please note, this will be an all-ages event. This is a great opportunity to hear some cool music, create something yourself, and purchase unique hand-crafted items! Oh, and grab some Funky Finds swag while you're at it!

3rd Annual Funky Finds Spring Fling

The 3rd Annual Funky Finds Spring Fling is only 6 weeks away! This free 2-day handmade event is family AND pet-friendly, so bring the whole crew! We have some fun things lined up for pets & their owners. More information can be found on the pet page.

The charitable raffle features items donated by all participating artisans, as well as other generous business owners, and all proceeds benefit CASA of Tarrant County and the Humane Society of North Texas, who will be on-hand facilitating pet adoptions.

Healing Maggie Grace Raffle

A few weeks ago, fellow blogger and artist, Teresa Atkinson, shared her battle with a kidney stone, much to the amusement of her blog friends. Unfortunately, her prognosis was much more serious. Teresa learned that she had kidney cancer & would need to prepare for immediate surgery so her kidney could be removed. Sadly, Teresa's insurance does not cover this "out of network" doctor, although it does cover part of her surgery. Her deductible is $5,000 for the surgery alone, and follow-up care, chemo, etc. will not be covered by her insurance.

Two bloggers, Jen and MaryAnn, have organized an online raffle to help ease the financial burden Teresa is facing. With a Senior in high school and a college Freshman, Teresa's budget is already tight, and we don't want Teresa to have to struggle with tens of thousands of dollars of medical debt.

Funky Finds has donated a tote bag (minus actual dog) featuring our Chihuahua logo filled with swag. These items are part of a grouping of other items you can bid on this Friday, May 7.

Atomic Holiday Bazaar - December 12 & 13

Atomic Holiday Bazaar, Sarasota, Florida’s first and only indie craft show, is slated for two shows featuring DIY craft. In it's fourth year, the Atomic Holiday Bazaar continues to be held at the downtown Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. This year the event introduces a Saturday Night Show on December 12, from 5-11:30 p.m., 18 and over with a $7 admission. The Saturday evening craft show will present 40 crafters who infuse their dark-hearted creations with splashes of punk, dabs of rock and jabs of general tuffness. The evening’s entertainment includes burlesque performances by Moxie Le Femme and live music raining down upon the crowd like a foamy PBR with rockabilly-punk rock by The Redliners, The Dead Popes and Viva Le Vox. Two fashion shows produced by Doll Face, Inc., will showcase vintage clothing from Silly Rabbit Vintage and Vintage Stew in addition to a second fashion show featuring rocka-billy-licious clothing designed by Joanna Coblentz of Doll Face, Inc., and Adrien Lucas of Tuff Betty Bags.

Atomic Holiday Bazaar celebrates its fourth Sunday show on December 13, from Noon - 6 p.m. The event is an all ages show with a $5 admission. Children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. The Sunday craft show will feature over 80 crafters that create amusing handmade DIY crafts. Holiday shopping offerings include handbags, t-shirts, jewelry, body products, home décor, baby items, plushies, a smidge of art and even canned goods. This is not your granny’s craft show! Free cotton totes will be handed out by the Bradentucky Bomber roller derby team to the first 100 adults through the door. Atomic totes are a local collectible and have been screen printed by locals Clothesline & filled with swag & special offers from participating vendors. Funky Finds is a proud sponsor of this event!

2nd Annual Fall Handmade Cavalcade

The {NewNew} is an eclectic group of independent handmade artists, designers, makers and crafters in the Metro New York area who are devoted to fostering a creative and supportive environment among its members. This Saturday, September 12, the group is hosting the 2nd Annual Fall Handmade Cavalcade in Beacon, NY. The event will take place at the corner of Main Street & North Cedar, where the group has partnered with the Hudson Valley Etsy Street Team to bring you unique handcrafted jewelry, kitschy housewares, handmade soaps, one-of-a-kind paper goods, children’s toys, as well as fashion-forward apparel & accessories. With over twenty vendors the show will be an intimate shopping experience where you are bound to find something for everyone.

Enjoy delicious snacks from The Groovy Baker and explore the inside & outside spaces brimming with unique handmade wares from the Brooklyn Bridge all the way up through the Hudson Valley. Be sure to come early, as the first 40 people will receive a limited-edition silk screened tote bag full of goodies! (Event Times: 11am-7pm)

ABOUT THE EVENT: The family and pet-friendly event will feature a raffle benefiting Humane Society of North Texas, Tarrant Area Food Bank, and Aflac Cancer Center. The first 50 people to purchase a $1 raffle ticket will receive "go green" swag bags hand-crafted by the Dallas Craft Mafia full of funky goods. The Humane Society will also be on-hand facilitating pet adoptions. Other exciting happenings include demos and free one-on-one classes with Fiber Therapy of Burleson, free goodies from Yelp, and a shoe drive benefiting Soles4Souls.

The Spring Fling is a terrific way to celebrate Earth Day as many vendors create recycled and upcycled goods. Eco-conscious shoppers will appreciate having over 100 shops in one location eliminating the waste of time and gasoline driving around town. Attend the Funky Finds Spring Fling on April 25 and celebrate handmade goods and independent artisans.

Funky Finds Spring Fling

On April 25, Funky Finds will be hosting a fantastic indie craft fair. The Funky Finds Spring Fling will feature tons of terrific items created by various artists, crafters & designers. Many of the vendors are from the Dallas-Fort Worth area; however, we have a nice mix of "out-of-towners" participating, as well.

We have a couple of opportunities for those of you who are looking to promote your work. We will be giving away 50 handmade swag bags full of goodies. If you would like to contribute items to be included in the bags, please contact me.

Also, we will be printing 5,000 full-color glossy booklets to be handed out at the event, as well as locally and through special mailings. If you would like to advertise in the booklet, you can view all ad rates & sizes on our site. You can also purchase your ad space online.

It is going to be a wonderfully funky event right in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. The venue is a very cool industrial type building that is perfect for housing all the funky artisans who will be there.

Felt Club Auction

Michelle Caplan emailed me letting me know that Felt Club, a huge monthly craft fair in Southern California that she participates in, is trying to raise some dough to pay off some hefty fines. There are three huge lots you can bid on through eBay. Each lot contains heaps of great stuff including vinyl zip pouches, crocheted softies, jewelry, baby tees, one-of-a-kind handbags, silkscreened sketchbooks and more. Note that the auctions end at 6pm on Sunday, March 18. You can also purchase Felt Club swag through Etsy.
