DIY Planters

Well, it may not officially be Summer here in the United States just yet, but it sure feels like it! Warm weather always turns my attention to our outdoor spaces & plants, which I love. I have been inspired by so many clever DIY planters as of late & wanted to share a few of my favorites with you.

1. Mason jars are amongst my favorites & this Mason jar wall planter by Not Just a Housewife is terrific!

2. These stump planters by The Crafty Tulip are a beautifully organic way to plant some various foliage.

3. I love the brightly painted recycled tire planters featured on Studio G. Also found a link to Design Sponge's tutorial showing how to make wine bottle Tiki torches...brilliant!

Kutz

Kutz is a great resource for crafters looking for unique embellishments, but are short on time. As a scrapbooker, I love finding small items to enhance my layouts; however, I don't have the budget to purchase tons of die cutting machines. Kutz is the perfect solution for my dilemma. The owner, Cyn, offers a variety of die cut shapes made of felt, cardboard, and paper. You'll find multi-colored felt hearts that are perfect for a number of Valentine's Day craft projects. The big set of floral pieces (pictured) includes 120 mix & match pieces that will certainly come in handy while crafting. Cyn also offers larger pieces, such as the felt owl on branch, that are ready to spice up pillows, handbags & more. And the intricate felt butterfly & silhouette are simply beautiful. Colette's Boutique features unique hand-crafted jewelry designs created by Colette Kimon who says she enjoys using sterling silver, fine silver, beautiful semi-precious gemstones and sparkly crystals. I love the Fleur de lis earrings made with beautiful blue chalcedony marquise briolettes. The floral studs are a playful design that incorporates sparkly blue topaz and sterling silver. And the turquoise and silver sunflower pendant is perfect for any summer wardrobe.
