Sawdust and Bullets

Sawdust and Bullets features one-of-a-kind vases, pens & other items that are hand-turned using various woods & other materials. The results are interesting & unique pieces that are sure to impress any recipient. We had the opportunity to view some of the listed items in person & my father-in-law, an avid pen collector, fell in love with the bullet casing pens. Ladies are sure to enjoy the bullet casing pen that is adorned with a colorful acrylic topper. If you're looking to spruce up your home with some eye-catching items, be sure to check out the mango bowl and the bubinga wood Confetti lamp. (pictured: Ligum Vitae 4 in 1 Screwdriver)

Hammer It Out

Hammer It Out features hand-cut stainless steel accessories created by Austin-based artisan Megan Russell. Since the items are made of stainless steel, they will not rust or tarnish over time. Megan's goal is to create beautiful, yet functional, items. I love the large flower pot (pictured) that has holes for drainage and a tray for over flow that is also stainless steel. The wrap vase is a very unique home decor item that has been sealed with silicone on the inside allowing it to handle fresh flowers or acted as a hanging planter. Megan also offers several different clocks and she accepts custom orders if you have a specific design in mind. You can visit Megan in person at Shop Crafty to be held in Austin on October 16.

New Hampshire Wood Creations

Fall is definitely in the air here in Pennsylvania. The trees are already changing colors, the weather is cooler & the smell of nutmeg & cinnamon is strong - at our house anyway. My favorite part of autumn is decorating with the fall palette. New Hampshire Wood Creations offers beautiful dried flower wreaths & arrangements, as well as other natural decorative items. The fall centerpiece is a beautiful arrangement of of dried flowers in a birch bark vase. I also love the autumn leaves wreath that was made using real oak leaves. If you're looking for natural pieces that can be used year-round, the birch bark mirror and white birch desk set are great choices.

Rimrock View Studio

We have continued making upgrades to The Shops @ Funky Finds, in order to make the experience better for sellers, as well as shoppers. There's several new Shops that you do not want to miss, such as Rimrock View Studio. Jill Whitfill is the talented artist behind this shop that creates beautiful pottery. The blue bamboo lidded jar is the perfect place to store your treasures. I also love the mixed media salt cedar vase that actually incorporates pieces of cedar into the piece. Have a look at Jill's new website for more information & be sure to stop by her booth at the Funky Finds Spring Fling on April 25 if you are in the area!

Wishful Thinking

Wishful Thinking is a great shop full of unique vintage finds. Owner Melinda loves spending hours browsing antique stores & bringing home something from the past. I share her love for antique shopping, as many of you do. It's fun trying to imagine who bought something as extraordinary as a cast iron jackass. The tall milkglass vase is a timeless piece that will look beautiful in any space. I have always been a fan of the classic Winnie the Pooh & would love to add the book by A.A. Milne to my collection. Wishful Thinking is a great source for distinctive vintage & antique items. Check back often for new additions in the shop.
