House of Smash

We first met Nix Johnson of House of Smash at the 2nd Annual Funky Finds Spring Fling in March. Nix creates funky cool accessories by screen printing on vinyl records. With designs ranging from plaid to comic books, there's just about something for every taste. The multi-color paisley designs are a classy way to add some interest to your ensemble. And the snakeskin prints are just down right hot! Nix has also designed various custom pieces that are terrific.

The Little Prints

At first glance, Jody McDowell's shop, The Little Prints, is full of happy colors & beautiful textures. When looking at each item individually, you will see that Jody has given an exciting new life to reused materials. The Megaroids are unique decorative pieces that began as Polaroid photos that have been enlarged and mounted on wooden blocks. I especially like the accessories like the cheerful green & yellow lace headband that's decorated with vintage plastic flower beads and a button. Using an old necktie, Jody also created a cute gray flower headband. There's several adorable wrist cuffs and brooches to choose from, as well.

Dot Dot Stitch

Dot Dot Stitch is Dotty Raleigh's new Etsy shop featuring her hand and machine embroidered items. Although this is a new shop, Dotty has been selling online for quite some time under the name Dottyral. The embroidered wrist cuffs are unique accessories that are available in a variety of colors & designs. I love the pink cherries cuff, as well as the linen hedgehog cuff. And the purple daisy cuff is one that will add flair to any ensemble. Dotty also creates ribbon embroidered pendants that will add a romantic touch to your wardrobe. And, if you're looking for a fun housewarming gift, check out the embroidered tea towels and aprons.
