Hammer It Out

Hammer It Out features hand-cut stainless steel accessories created by Austin-based artisan Megan Russell. Since the items are made of stainless steel, they will not rust or tarnish over time. Megan's goal is to create beautiful, yet functional, items. I love the large flower pot (pictured) that has holes for drainage and a tray for over flow that is also stainless steel. The wrap vase is a very unique home decor item that has been sealed with silicone on the inside allowing it to handle fresh flowers or acted as a hanging planter. Megan also offers several different clocks and she accepts custom orders if you have a specific design in mind. You can visit Megan in person at Shop Crafty to be held in Austin on October 16.

Green Glass Designs

Green Glass Designs is made up of environmentally conscious artisans that focus on recycling. Their goal is to create beautiful yet functional creations from glass and bottles that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Among their product offerings are several beer bottle clocks that are perfect for the “Man Cave”, your home bar, kitchen, garage or workshop. If you're more of a wine connoisseur, Green Glass Designs also offers vintage label wine bottle clocks (pictured). I especially love the recycled wine bottle pendants. These one-of-a-kind necklaces are made by cutting the tops off of wine bottles, fire polishing them in a kiln and then hand-crafting findings and adding unusual leather, string cords or a pretty silver chain to finish the look. Visit Green Glass Designs' main website for more information.

Julishland Jewelry Leather

Julishland Jewelry Leather is a small family company based in Israel. Inspired by various forms of the natural world, colors, and shapes, this family works to create unique leather accessories. Whether you like something on the demure side, such as a beautiful flower brooch, or something more on the wild side, like the Lolita cuff, there's something for every style and taste. One of my favorite designs is the Butterfly necklace (pictured) made of leather and seashell chips. With pieces such as the Branch bib necklace and floral charm bracelet, it's hard to deny these accessories are each a work of art. View more Julishland designs via DeviantArt and Flickr.

Peace, Love, & Cupcakes

Peace, Love, & Cupcakes...what more could one want out of life? Florida-based artist Amy Lapi creates artwork that is bright & fun - the perfect way to brighten up any dull space! Her original 8x10 canvas paintings depict bold images with various sentiments, such as she believed that life is pretty sweet. Many city dwellers come to view the city as one of their best friends and every good man should also be a BFF, in my opinion. I love all of Amy's paintings; however, the cupcake with buttons (pictured) is perhaps my absolute favorite. Learn more about Amy & her work by reading her blog and by viewing her Flickr gallery.
