Evie the graceful fish is absolutely adorable with her big red lips and I love Mia the funky monkey! Marcy generously donated two lampwork bead necklaces for this month's giveaway, one being an adorable dog & the other a beautiful flying heart. Also, in honor of Leap Year everything in Marcy's shop is 25% off today only!

Designer Call - Accessories

Lüp Rocks is currently organizing the editor's party for the Couture Pavilion inside the JA NY show, the largest NY jewelry trade show, to be held on March 10. During this event all the accessories, fashion & jewelry editors from all the major consumer and trade publications will attend a private jewelry showing.

Lüp Rocks is looking for independent designers who would like to contribute accessories to be included in their SWAG bags. Due to the fact that this is a jewelry trade show that designers pay to participate in Lüp Rocks cannot include jewelry.

RSVPs have already been received from Vogue, Harper's, Town and Country, Elle, InStyle, People, O Oprah Magazine, to name a few. A final list of the invitees will be given to anyone who donates products enabling you to do follow up calls.

Rural Abandon

Growing up in rural West Texas I can easily relate to Rural Abandon’s water tower logo. But there’s nothing plain or small-town about jewelry designer Kelly Bedeian’s beautiful designs. All of her pieces are created using precious metals of the up-most quality. The sterling silver ribbon ring is beautiful in its simple organic style, as is the submarine ring. I really like the fun, quirky designs such as the dog park art pendant and ladies room earrings. And what sentimental mom, grandmother, aunt, etc. wouldn’t want a custom pendant featuring artwork by the special child in their life? Don’t forget to enter the jewelry giveaway for your chance to win a trio of sterling silver Rox Rings donated by Rural Abandon.

Each of these pieces are exquisite in their organic design. The jeweled web cuff is a beautiful tangle of sterling silver & semi-precious stones. There’s many beautiful necklace designs, such as the blossom blue topaz pendant. I also love the Island Colors Y necklace. There’s plenty of earrings to choose from, as well. I would love to have the Peridot blossom earrings featuring my birthstone. Enter the jewelry giveaway for your chance to win a beautiful pair of earrings donated by Ananya Studio.

Sarah Ridgley Letterpress features many clean, classic designs. The coasters are my favorite items because they look so classy. The Love coaster set will make a wonderful gift for any loved one. Or how about a personalized monogram coaster set? Lovely! Sarah also prints beautiful cards & gift tags which I can easily see using in various art projects. Of course, I have to admit that my favorite design in this Etsy shop is the Note From an Outlaw card!

Rhymes with Twee

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times...I love hedgehogs! Rhymes with Twee has the cutest postcards featuring Hoggle, an African Pygmy hedgehog. The breakup bandage is a unique way to show the world that your heart is in fact broken. I really love the baby onsies featuring old school mix tape images. And I'd be remiss if I did not bring your attention to the sad croissant and the cute artichoke.

Jennifer Maestre

According to her Etsy profile, Jennifer Maestre is best known for her nationally exhibited pencil point sculptures. Lucky for us she has scaled down her designs & is now sharing her love of pencils via her jewelry designs. Pencil Pins features accessories such as this cool heart pin. The ACEO cards are created using actual pencils that are finished with satin oil-based poly. Jennifer has constructed lots of great pieces, including the red paisley earrings and holiday tree pencil pin. Visit Jennifer's main website to see more of her work.

Justin Duance

Wood has been a very popular trend in the last year, especially faux bois (fake wood) which we've seen in fabrics, scrapbooking paper, and much more. Contemporary jewelry designer Justin Duance creates jewelry using an understated combination of silver or gold and non-precious materials, including wood. His handcrafted designs are breathtaking in their simple, organic design. Justin's collection includes bracelets, rings, cufflinks, and much more. All rings are made to order per your specifications. I love the bangle bracelets which feature a wooden pebble inlayed with silver. The earrings, which come in a variety of styles, are my absolute favorite. And the beautifully designed cufflinks will add a touch of class to any suit. Contact Justin for turn around times & other information.

Of course, I also love the Mushroom Magic Dude & the adorable Chick Dude Seth.

Vanessa & Company

Vanessa & Company creates vintage-inspired home decor, accessories & more. The Giddy Princess tooth fairy pillow would be an adorable gift for any little girl. Knitting a Scarf is the perfect stamp for the knit-obsessed crafter in your life. I love the endearing big-eyed doe stamp, as well as the 70s style owls. And of course I must have a retro science book style monkey for myself! Check out all the funky images Sideshow Stamps and Crafts has to offer.

Snow Angel Designs

Snow Angel Designs is an adorable Etsy shop featuring the cutest handmade jumpers for little girls. Sadly, this shop will be closing this year as Angelique Airington will be focusing her energies solely on her photography. But that means there's deals to be had for you! These adorable children's dresses range from $10 to $20 USD. Talk about a steal! The dotted fleece dress looks cozy & warm. And I love the pleated hearts & dots dress. And what little girl wouldn't love handmade Penelope Ann? She too is wearing a precious handmade frock.

Noxenlux Chapeaux

Carlee Wolcott explains on her website that the French word chapeaux translates in English to hat. Carlee's beautiful handmade hats & accessories are reminiscent of the old Hollywood glamour style I have always admired. Her Etsy shop, Noxenlux Chapeaux, showcases a wide-array of designs ranging from tilt hats to mini top hats. The Albino Peacock Feather Fascinator is a particularly fascinating design, incorporating an actual albino peacock feather. The pink & black mini tricorn hat, a hat with the brim turned up on three sides, is another unique design I admire. And why not treat the man in your life to a skull & crossbones tricorn hat? Who knows, it may just bring a little Jack Sparrow-ness to your life.

Sweet Pepita

I do not have children, but if I did they would proudly sport the Counting Crows baby t-shirt created by Sweet Pepita. Counting Crows are my absolute favorite band. So much so that I am nearly tempted to purchase this tee on the off chance that I ever will have a child (or a niece or nephew)! This Etsy shop features many other fabulous children's tees, including the colorful Pixy Stix t-shirt. I love that these adorable tees are created using recycled tees. You can even send in your old shirt & have a custom-made children's tee created. And honestly, what child wouldn't look great in an Elvis fan club tee?

Lottie Frank

London-based designer Lucy Claydon's background in fashion & graphics shines through in her illustrations seen in her Etsy shop, Lottie Frank. Oriental Glamour & Goodbye are two fabulous drawings that have been printed on wallpaper. I love the pieces like Sweet Treat that are reminiscent of glamorous fashion magazine images. You can also purchase Lottie's illustration work on various items, including pocket mirrors & newly introduced button sets. Learn more about Lucy Claydon's work through her blog & her portfolio site.

Bubbly Shnooks

I initially became a fan of Michelle Clement when I came across her scrapbooking work on Flickr. That lead me to her blog where I learned more about Michelle far-reaching talents in art & animation. I was recently thrilled to read an announcement on her blog that she had opened an Etsy shop. Bubbly Shnooks features this talented young woman's fabulous felt plushie designs, such as the Point n Shoot Camera. I also love the felt donuts and Lola the smiling whale. You can also purchase handmade cards Michelle has created. These small works of art would be a treat for anyone to receive!

Moon's Harvest

I mentioned Moon's Harvest in my Etsy Dallas trunk show recap on Monday. This East Texas based company uses ingredients that allow you to luxuriously indulge yourself without worrying about harsh chemicals or preservatives. I had the opportunity to try out a variety of their products included in the coolest assorted goodies jar. These large jars were well-decorated & contained tons of items ranging from bath bombs to dry oil mist. I chose the coconut lime & verbena scent that is delectable, but not overpowering. I especially loved the bar soap & the body scrub. The soap felt like chapstick for my entire body & was exactly what my dry, wintry skin needed. I used the body scrub on my feet (also in dire need of moisturizing & exfoliation) and felt like I could wear sandals any day now! It is very apparent that these wonderful products are made with the finest natural butters, oils, herbs, botanicals & other natural ingredients. You can see more Moon's Harvest products, such as the pet products, on their main website.

*Etsy Dallas grab bag giveaway ends at midnight CST. Winner announced on Valentine's Day!

Little Beanz

Crystal Wall is a talented artist who recently opened a new Etsy shop called Little Beanz. Crystal strives to illustrate children at their best, while just being kids. Each little bean illustration has his or her own name, personality and look. One of these pieces would look lovely in any child's room! As a special appreciation gift to her new customers, Crystal is offering a FREE 4"x 6" glossy photo print of a limited edition piece that will not be available in the shop. This will be included in the first 25 orders. Check back often as Little Beanz will be featuring new artwork on a regular basis.

kett made.

Mark Kett, the artist behind kett made., creates wooden spoons and utensils, serving both form and function. When he & his wife Colleen's son reacted negatively to using metal spoons, the couple did not feel comfortable using plastic. Mark, a Luthier (or guitar maker), decided to design a wooden spoon in his shop so that his son would eat that day. His design took into account the natural curvature of his baby's mouth & included two ends - one for babies with smaller mouths and a larger end for others. Mark decided to craft his designs using the wood of birdseye maple. The couple decided to share their spoons with others; not in a mass production way, but to create each spoon by hand. These exotic wooden spoons are a wonderful alternative to the typical utensils we are accustomed to using on a daily basis. They are each intricate works of art, as well as functional objects.

Etsy Dallas Trunk Show Recap (and giveaway!)

Saturday Joe & I had the pleasure of attending the second Etsy Dallas trunk show. After a rocky start to the morning (ie: car accident), we arrived to find tons of terrific vendors displaying their fabulously funky designs. We caught up with previous Funky Finds including Patti Haskins, Designing Diva, Harrilu, & Tefi Designs. It's wonderful to see these designers regularly, giving us the opportunity get to know them & their work. We also met many new designers who are definitely Funky Finds!

Cindi Albright's Christian-based company, Rustique Art, features beautiful hand-crafted crosses. The vintage beaded crosses are stunning (pictured). Cindi is more than happy to create custom crosses to match any specific color scheme you request. Rustique Art also features barbed wire crosses, steel crosses, and more.

It was a pleasure visiting with the mother daughter team that is Moon's Harvest. This dynamic duo creates a wide array of bath & body products, including bubbly bars & dry oil mists. I will be reviewing many of their products later this week. Also, don't miss the fantastic one-of-a-kind hand-crafted jewelry designed by Erica Jean.

Susan Bradford of Sadie's Things creates beautiful antiqued brass jewelry. Using her own methods to speed up the aging process, Susan works in her "lab" to create a unique look. I was determined to treat my mom (and myself!) to some of Susan's earrings, but it was not easy choosing from all the gorgeous designs. (pictured)

We had a wonderful chat with two charismatic women who shared a booth. Mary's Madness features cool charm bracelets, vintage button jewelry & much more. This designer also has another Etsy shop, The Altered Black Sheep, showcasing unique pieces such as the silverware jewelry. Booth-mate Ellen Bennett of Ellen's Treasures is a delightful bundle of energy. She designs handbags (pictured), & children's items, such as burp cloths & bibs. I loved the Let's Meet for Coffee bag.

Christy Robinson was another jewelry designer I enjoyed visiting with. Christy actually has a studio located at the site where the trunk show was held. It was interesting to see the space where she designs & sells her designs on a regular basis. Christy strives to create unique jewelry that is hip & affordable. Her hand-stamped designs were among my favorites, as well as the rings.

We also met Cherry of Cherry's Creations & Tamara of TP Designs, both of which are participating in upcoming funky giveaways. Cherry designs jewelry which features recycled & repurposed elements. The wire wrapped pendants are exceptionally fabulous! Tamara is a talented photographer & artist whose work would be a great addition to any space. (pictured)

Good Scents Bath Company offers a variety of products designed to pamper you from head to toe. I purchased some of the Luscious Lips ultra moisturizing lip balm & I have to tell you this stuff rocks! Created using Shea Oil, Natural Vitamin E Oil, & Sun-bleached Beeswax this lip balm stays on forever. Good Scents now offers Luscious Lips Tints, as well. Check out the sale section for lots of great deals.

Contest ends Wednesday, February 13th at midnight CST. Winner announced on Valentine's Day!

Mary Michael Shelley

According to Wikipedia, folk art describes a wide range of objects that reflect the craft traditions & traditional social values of various social groups. Folk art is generally produced by people who have little or no academic artistic training, nor a desire to emulate "fine art", and use established techniques and styles of a particular region or culture. Folk artist Mary Michael Shelley lists many adjectives on her home page that have been used to describe her work. This self-taught artists' work seems to fit the definition of folk art perfectly. Her carved folk art paintings span a variety of topics including diners and farm life. I'd have to say that the Adam and Eve pieces on carved pine are my favorite. I admire Mary's work because it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously which I believe lends even more credit to her original designs. Have a look at all of Mary's wonderful works of art. (work shown is titled Guard Dogs #3)

Unhappy Animals

Cupid Strikes

Sometimes Love Hurts as shown in this delightful cactus pin cushion (pictured) designed by Sheasy. The heart-felt sachets are also adorable.

I have always been fascinated with stained glass. What Valentine wouldn't be delighted to receive one of the stained glass hearts created by Dias y Flores?

Bojangled Jewels has tons of terrific items, including My Heart is Ticking. (pictured) This necklace features tons of tiny antique watch gears atop layered silver hearts. So unique! The locked & tied key and bow necklace is another fav of mine.

If you'd like to create something special for you Valentine, check out the mini album kits & paper goods available at Scraps of Time. The Choose Me kit is full of delightful goodies perfect for celebrating your love. And don't miss the adorable add-on kits.

I never really liked the taste of those chalky candy hearts I always seem to receive around Valentine's Day. But the candy heart jewelry by DC Designs seem a lot more appealing. I especially love the lime green Cutie pie necklace. The Pool of Love is another design that really caught my eye.

The Funky Felter creates lots of unique hand-felted wool accessories. You'll find lots of colorful heart items perfect for Valentine's Day. I love the heart pendants, hair pins, and colorful rings. (pictured)

Sassafras Creations

Sassafras Creations takes recycling & repurposing to a whole new level. Nancy Thompson, a knitter & beader for many years, was looking for ways to combine her two obsessions. She began using pieces of aluminum knitting needles to create unique jewelry. I love the colorful needle bangles & the geometric needle earrings are fantastic. Nancy's matchless designs include many types of accessories, including knitting needle keyrings, watches, & chokers. And don't miss the ultimate knitters charm bracelet, an accessory any die-hard knitter would love.

A Pretty Rock

Yazmin, the creative force behind A Pretty Rock, creates gorgeous jewelry that is designed to last. All of Yazmin's bracelet designs are stunning. I love the flower & vine piece, as well as the Criss Cross Cuff. The limited-edition rings & necklaces are equally fabulous. Earrings are my favorite accessory & A Pretty Rock has many terrific pairs to choose from. The stamped discs are unique & I love the multi-colored Chandelier earrings. And this is exciting...from now until February 14th, all orders over $40 will receive a free pair of Filigree Heart Circle Drops Earrings (a $20 value)! A perfect Valentine's Day gift!

These products are not only practical, but are also beautifully designed. I love the artistic designs on the baby onsies that feature an overall image comprised of many smaller images. And any woman would look fabulous carrying one of the black tote bags printed with beautiful metallic silver designs. What initially caught my eye at Grace & Go are the stunning textile designs. The tea towels, aprons & pillow cases look too divine to actually use! And I adore the Mid Century Chairs cushion covers. Stay tuned for the April giveaway where you could win one of these fabulous cushion covers for yourself!
